One of my earliest childhood memories involves a market adventure with my brother, where we picked up baking instruments and ingredients for a simple vanilla pound cake. Oddly enough, my mom had never baked before, but it turned out to be the first time I made an entire meal from scratch. That was the moment I realized I actually enjoyed cooking, especially the entire process. Being a foodie from birth, cooking was a ticket to freedom from the constraints of what was available at home. I could literally eat whatever I wanted, as long as I could cook it.
Moving to Canada opened up a whole new world of culinary possibilities for me. I was exposed to different types of cuisines that weren’t available back home. This not only fueled my interest in cooking but also inspired me to create various recipes infused with my Nigerian roots.
Creating The Cindy’s Kitchen
Enter Cindy’s Kitchen—an idea born from the realization that I had something unique to offer to the food blogging scene, particularly in the Afro-Fusion realm. I had been crafting Afro-Fusion recipes in my kitchen long before I even knew the term. So, I decided to launch TCK to share my God-given passion for cooking and creating distinctive recipes with the world.
What is Afro-fusion?
Afro-Fusion is a culinary celebration that harmoniously blends traditional African flavours with diverse global influences, creating a unique and vibrant fusion of taste experiences.
